ZCOM電信商級無線控制器搭載Intel 平台，將原本設置於單個無線存取點的管理功能轉移至電信商級無線控制器，進而協助客戶達到集中管理和監控所有的無線存取點之目的，而無線存取點僅保留基本的無線接入和安全功能。
此外，當瘦身後的無線存取點(TAP)僅需執行符合IEEE 802.11 規範的基本功能時， 電信商級無線控制器可更專注於無線存取點的組網配置、用戶認證、數據流量發送、無線資源管理、接取控制、QoS和負載平衡…等功能。
ZCOM電信商級無線控制器所屬的應用結構，具備可控制、可管理的特色，可化繁為簡，最適用於複雜的Wi-Fi架構環境。
