【FAQ】How to make frequency and anti-interference planning in a Wi-Fi system construction?

Dec 04, 2019

Within a Wi-Fi coverage area, the DSSS spread spectrum technology provides three non-overlapping operating channels, therefore, the neighbor APs could operate in 1, 6, 11 channel respectively to avoid neighbor interference.

To configure an AP operating channel first has to detect the channels the neighboring APs used, those channels in use have to be avoided as possible.

To reduce the interference outdoor, it is better to adjust either the antenna azimuth angle to avoid the main beam facing the interference source or the transmit power.

To reduce the interference indoor, especially there are several sets of indoor distribution system, it is necessary to reserve a protect channel from other Wi-Fi operators to insure the requirement of protect ratio.

For outdoor coverage channel allocation, it should refer to the deployment rule of cellular base station to reuse channel 1, 6 and 11 to avoid APs interference each other, guarantee the coverage quality.
