Z-COM, Inc. participated in the Hsinchu City Government’s “Ocean Together, Creating a Blue Future” marine conservation achievement press conference on August 26, following an invitation from the city government. The event brought together government agencies, industries, schools, and research institutions to support marine conservation and resource recycling initiatives, reflecting Z-COM’s continued commitment to ESG practices and local sustainable development.
The event highlighted achievements in marine waste recycling and circular resource utilization. It also featured the premiere of the documentary A New Beginning from the Sea, along with the launch of the “Sea Breeze Circular Bag” and “Wind City Omamori,” both made from recycled materials derived from discarded fishing nets. These initiatives demonstrated a circular model in which marine waste is collected, processed into reusable resources, and transformed into new applications.
Over the past three years, Hsinchu City has recovered more than 22.15 metric tons of discarded fishing nets, with a total length exceeding 100,000 meters. Through cross-sector collaboration, the city has continued to promote marine waste reuse and environmental education. These efforts align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including SDG 12 “Responsible Consumption and Production,” SDG 14 “Life Below Water,” and SDG 17 “Partnerships for the Goals,” demonstrating how local government, businesses, and community resources can work together to advance sustainable governance.
Z-COM stated that corporate sustainability involves not only strengthening environmental management, energy conservation, carbon reduction, and corporate governance within the organization, but also actively participating in local sustainability initiatives. By taking part in Hsinchu City’s marine sustainability program, Z-COM supports local environmental governance while further strengthening communication and collaboration with government agencies and cross-sector partners.
In response to global trends in net-zero transition, climate change, and industrial decarbonization, Z-COM continues to incorporate its ESG+AI approach into corporate operations and strategic development. Building on its existing expertise in information and communications technology (ICT) and smart connectivity, the company continues to explore opportunities in smart energy, energy management, low-carbon transition, and smart city applications. Through the integration of government policies, industry needs, technology applications, and ESG principles, Z-COM aims to develop more sustainability collaboration models that deliver tangible benefits.
Looking ahead, Z-COM will continue to strengthen its environmental, social, and governance practices and work with government, industry, academia, research institutions, and other stakeholders. By connecting its professional capabilities with sustainability needs, the company seeks to contribute long-term value to local development, industrial transformation, and broader social well-being.
