Leading a New Era of Heterogeneous Network Convergence with "AI Next-Generation Communication Network Resilience"
Taipei, November 6, 2025
The annual flagship event for the rail transport industry, the "2025 Smart Rail Development Forum & Innovation Technology Showcase," recently concluded with great success. Z-COM centered its exhibition on "Next-Generation Communication Network Resilience," featuring both a keynote address by Mr. Liang-Shu Hsu, Manager of System Software and Network Security Technology Department, and a comprehensive product display.
Mr. Hsu shared Z-COM's pioneering insights on strengthening service stability through heterogeneous networks. The exhibition showcased a full product line specifically engineered for harsh rail environments, including the AS710, AG260, zMEC, SP250 series, IP110H, and IP503.
Z-COM emphasized that these innovative Edge-to-Cloud solutions effectively address the rail industry's challenges in improving operational efficiency, ensuring passenger safety, and optimizing maintenance management.
Keynote Speech: AI-Driven Communication Resilience for a New Smart Rail Architecture
Mr. Liang-Shu Hsu’s keynote, titled "AI Next-Generation Communication Network Resilience: Enhancing Service Resilience in Smart Transportation through Heterogeneous Networks," drew a large audience from the industry, academia, and research sectors.
Manager Hsu delved into how a multi-network convergence architecture can mitigate the risk of service disruption caused by single-network failures. He used practical case studies to illustrate how Z-COM’s core EdgeLink-X platform utilizes proprietary software algorithms and Edge AI to achieve multi-network convergence (Wi-Fi, 5G/LTE, Wired, IoT). This enables seamless switching and smart load balancing across communication links, achieving two key goals:
1. Enhanced Stability and Real-Time Communication: Ensuring uninterrupted transmission of critical data, such as train information and on-board surveillance video.
2. Strengthened Disaster Response Capability: Allowing the system to rapidly switch to other available heterogeneous networks to maintain essential operational communications if a single network is compromised.

Manager Hsu stated: "The core challenge for the future of smart rail lies in communication resilience. Z-COM leverages AI and multi-network integration technology to help smart transportation systems maintain continuous and secure service quality in any environment."
EdgeLink-X Technology Showcase: Bridging AI, 5G, and Wi-Fi 7 Heterogeneous Core Capabilities
At the exhibition booth, Z-COM highlighted EdgeLink-X as the central feature, demonstrating its connectivity with several flagship products:
• AS710: Winner of the 2025 National Brand Yushan Award for Best Product, this device adopts the Wi-Fi 7 chipset, offering ultra-high speed and low latency, making it ideal for on-board and high-density environments.
• AG260: A Dual-Mode 5G Backhaul Gateway supporting Wi-Fi 6 and 5G transmission, providing flexible network backhaul options and stable edge node connectivity.
• zMEC Platform: The Edge Computing hub, integrating AI inference, data offloading, and containerized application deployment to support real-time video analysis and event determination.
• SP250 Series: High-performance outdoor wireless bridge devices characterized by long range and high throughput, suitable for monitoring along railway lines or in mountainous regions.
• IP110H / IP503: Industrial-grade IP Radio equipment supporting real-time voice dispatch and communication to ensure uninterrupted command and collaboration for critical field missions.
Together, these products form the EdgeLink-X Heterogeneous Edge Architecture, realizing a complete communication closed-loop from sensing and connectivity to edge analysis. Z-COM's solutions have been successfully deployed for applications such as pantograph monitoring, slope safety surveillance, foreign object intrusion detection, and voice dispatch/emergency communication.
